Mara’s Addiction Story – from Drug Abuse to Recovery at MBRC
http://www.MalibuBeachRecoveryCenter.com – Mara’s addiction started early, taking her first drink at 10 years old and getting drunk on a daily basis by the time she was 12.
By junior high she was into pot, acid, and ecstasy, and her friends knew her as “The Corruptor” because she was so intent on leading others down the path to using. Graduating to crack and speed, and selling drugs to support her habit, Mara was in deep.
Mara tried sober living and several other rehab programs, but was still unable to stay clean. Finally, after a chance meeting with an Malibu Beach Recover Center alum, she was convinced to try again.
Mara now has two years sober, and gives back on a regular basis to others in recovery at MBRC’s Brentwood House. Here she shares her story, and explains what about Malibu Beach Recovery enabled her to find success.
