Hello everyone, welcome back to ClevverMusic, I’m Bridget Daly. Amy Winehouse’s death was not only a complete shock, but it’s still shrouded in mystery as we still have no idea how she died. But that hasn’t stopped people from speculating—even her own family. According to a report by People magazine, Amy’s family believes she could have died as a result of alcohol withdrawl. Apparently her doctors had advised she slowly cut down her alcohol intake over time. But according to sources, Amy stopped drinking cold turkey.
This is why Amy’s family has told press they believe she may have had a seizure, which is common amongst addicts. A source tells British tabloid The Sun, “Abstinence gave her body such a fright they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.” Amy’s father Mitch added that the shock of giving it up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take.” It could take up to 6 weeks for the toxicology results to come in, but in the meantime, leave your comments on whether you agree with the family that this was the cause of death.
