Subutex

How to tell Differences between Subutex and Suboxone with Dr Rodriquez and Delray Center
Differences between Subutex and Suboxone:
“Many clients want to know the difference between Subutex and Suboxone. The main difference is the presence of naloxone, which is an opioid-antagonist. This agent is active intravenously, which means if Suboxone is crushed and used intravenously it will precipitate a very severe withdrawal reaction. Subutex does not have that. Now both Subutex and Suboxone do have Buprenorphine which is the main active ingredient, and Buprenorphine also acts as a blocker with other opioids. But the main difference is again that presence of naloxone to prevent tampering and intravenous use. Suboxone also is flavored with an orange flavoring, which makes it more palatable, and it also is less expensive. Most clients prefer Suboxone because it does taste better and it is less expensive.” Differences between Subutex and Suboxone explained by Raul J Rodriguez MDRaul J Rodriguez MD, a double Board Certified Psychiatrist and Addictionologist, discusses addiction and family history http://www.delraycenter.com
