Love addicts are people who persistently are attracted to and enter into relationships with emotionally unavailable people after a brief period of attraction. Quickly the love addict believes that this person will complete them, yet often the feeling is unrequited.
The love addicted person can become distraught and heartbroken about somebody they have met on or offline, or in passing and have become completely fixated on that person. That is all it takes for love addiction to begin. It seems innocuous to start with, yet it can lead to intense emotional pain. The love addicted person will experience this as falling in love or ‘love at first sight’.
