the song is titled kaaliyon ka chaman. my friends and i used this song for our Multimedia University Drama Fest competition back in 2007 which we won the 3rd place (for the acting and storyline we created, not for the song used) ;D
so..listening to this song actually brings back all the memories. good times! =)

originally sung by lata magheskar, in ‘thoda reshal lagta hai ‘ (thank you guys who gave the original song title in your comments) which i believed was played in the movie called ‘jyoti’.
